About Urban Roots

“Urban Roots” is an inspiring ‘how-to’ documentary on urban vegetable gardening.   Three dynamic gardeners share their personal stories on living a more self-suffecient lifestyle while providing practical information on how to garden.  Learn to grow your own food, it’s more nutritious and you’ll save money!

You’ll learn the basics from preparing soil to harvest, get new ideas on veggies to grow, and learn about raising chickens in the city.
 
The documentary was filmed entirely in Nelson, profiles Nelson gardeners and features the music of Adham Shaikh.

The producer/director of the documentary, Katherine Pettit says “I made the film so novice gardeners could learn some basic skills and feel inspired to grow veggies instead of lawn.”
